Rules & Regulations

  1. The committee reserves the right to measure entries where height is specified.
  2. Dogs must be kept on a leash at all times.
  3. Foals to be led or kept secured whilst on the Show grounds.
  4. Competitors are required to be suitably attired.
  5. The Society will not be held responsible for any accident that may be caused to or by any horse and it shall be a condition of entry that each nominator hold the Society blameless and shall indemnify it against any legal proceedings arising from any such incident.
  6. All protests must be in writing and handed to the Stewards or Secretary within one hour of the Judge’s decision, accompanied by a fee of $100, which shall be forfeited should the Committee deem the protest frivolous.
  7. No person shall be allowed in the ring during judging except ring officials, reporters, secretaries and persons in charge of exhibits, unless invited by the President of the Society, or with the written consent of the Secretary or Convenor.
  8. The Society will not, under any circumstances, hold itself liable for any accidents on the Show grounds or premises, or for any loss or damage incurred.
  9. Any person giving wrong description or giving annoyance to the Secretary, Convenor, Committee, Stewards or Judges is liable to disqualification and may be barred from future shows.
  10. Any act that, in the opinion of the ring officials is deemed cruel or neglectful (eg. whip marks), may cause the exhibitor to be barred from the class. Severe cases will be reported to the appropriate authority.
  11. Any exhibit that becomes loose from it’s handler or rider in the arena will  be required to withdraw from the class.
  12. There will be no transferring of entries between classes after Submission of entry except as in rule 13 below.
  13. In the case of a horse being measured prior to the show, and a transfer being required, the current height certificate must be in the hands of the secretary/convenor by 5pm on the evening before the Show.
  14. Any coaching during judging is strictly prohibited.
  15. Payment must accompany entry form to validate entry. Show secretaries will not take responsibility for cash sent through the post.
  16. Refund of entry fees only on receipt of veterinary certificate naming the horse, or a medical certificate for the rider.
  17. CDSA shows have an expectation of entrants to conduct themselves in a spirit of good sportsmanship and fair play at all times.
  18. In the event of any inconsistencies between these rules and EA or any other association or club, these rules shall prevail.
